Let's face it folks, the economy is at best "unstable".
We are in the midst of uncertainty as to what direction to turn.
As your budgets have been decreased or in some cases slashed, the opportunity to become creative is of utmost importance.
Have you found it more difficult to get under budget for your event?
Here are some helpful tips for your use.
1. Hire a DJ instead of a band.
Most of time you can save hundreds of dollars. In some areas, you can get a top-notch DJ for $500 for 4 hours while at the same time paying well over $2,000 for a dance band.
Remember, if you have a diverse guest population, a DJ may provide wider selections to meet the needs of your audience.
2 . If you still want live music consider a solo musician, duo, trio or quartet as opposed to a full length band or orchestra.
In one area, a trio will cost you $900 to $1,000 whereas a full length band will run you $2,500.
Again, a major cost savings here.
3. Book top local entertainment.
In your area there are very accomplished DJs, bands, musicians, magicians, etc. Save on travel expenses by having a performer within a 30 mile radius provide your entertainment.
4. If you hire caterers, make sure you have open bidding and get good costs comparisons.
Compare the cost of plated vs. buffet.
5. Try booking the venue during non-peak times.
Daytime hours are usually cheaper than evening hours. If you normally have a holiday event in December, consider having your event in January.
6. Have a employee only event or require the employees to pay for guests.
This idea works better if it's a daytime event at if you had it at your own office.
7. You could also have the event in your office or facility if you have space.
